There are moments in life that shape us, moments that redefine not only who we are but what we’re called to do. Shared Blessings was born from one of those moments.
For over 21 years, I’ve walked the road of single motherhood, raising my four children without child support and with only sporadic government assistance. We’ve faced homelessness, shelters, transitional housing, and even car camping. For the most part, it was just us—alone, figuring things out day by day.
But even in those hardest moments, God placed people, ministries, and churches in our path—people who gave, who served, who reminded us we weren’t entirely alone. I am truly grateful for every act of kindness, big and small.
One moment stands out. My kids were between 8 and 12 years old, and we all desperately needed socks and underwear. There was no putting it off anymore. I was working, but it was never quite enough. Bills had to be floated, food had to be stretched, and the basics—like socks and underwear—felt like luxuries.
We went to Walmart, and each of us got what we needed. When I got to the register and saw the total—over $80—I had to fight back tears. It wasn’t just the number on the screen; it was the weight of constantly choosing between necessities. That night, I did what I always did—I cried out to God. (In the shower, of course—parents, you understand.) And just like every other time, His peace washed over me, and we kept going.
Now, with my kids grown, I look back on all those struggles, and I see how things can be better for those walking a similar road. I don’t want Shared Blessings to be just a handout—I want it to be more. A place where people are seen, where dignity is restored, where needs are met, but most importantly, where they encounter the love of Jesus in real, tangible ways.
I am humbled, overwhelmed, and beyond grateful that God has entrusted this mission to me. Honestly, He’s already done far more than I ever dreamed in such a short amount of time. There are moments where I feel like saying, Whoa, God! Slow the roll—this is moving way too fast! But His timing is perfect, and I trust His plan.
My biggest hope for Shared Blessings is that everyone who walks through our doors—whether they’re receiving help, volunteering, or supporting the mission—experience God’s love. That they find a community who cares for them, a place where they aren’t just prayed for and sent on their way but deeply cared for, needs met, hearts encouraged, and lives transformed.
This is an invitation—not just to give or serve, but to love. To be the hands and feet of Jesus to those who need it.
I can’t wait to see what God does next!
With love and gratitude,
LeAnn
Founder, Shared Blessings
Shared Blessings isn’t just a mission—it’s a movement of love, generosity, and faith in action. Every prayer lifted, every item donated, every moment spent serving is part of a bigger story—one where people are reminded they are seen, valued, and not alone.
This story isn’t just mine. It’s yours too.
If you feel called to be part of what God is doing through Shared Blessings, there are so many ways to help:
Pray. Cover this mission, our volunteers, and the people we serve in prayer. Pray that every person who walks through our doors feels the love of Jesus and finds more than just material support, but true hope.
Donate. Right now, we’re gathering essential items like socks, underwear, hygiene products, and household necessities. Every donation, no matter how small, makes a difference.
Volunteer. Whether it’s sorting donations, helping with deliveries, or preparing for the opening of our Free Store, your time and hands are a blessing.
Share. Spread the word about Shared Blessings. Tell your friends, family, and church community. You never know who might be looking for a way to give or who might need the very help we provide.
This is just the beginning, but already, God is moving in ways I never imagined. I am humbled and grateful for every person who joins this journey—because this isn’t just about meeting needs, it’s about being the hands and feet of Jesus to those who need it.
If you’d like to be part of this mission, reach out. I’d love to hear from you.
Together, we can Follow Jesus, Serve Others, and Share Blessings.
